West View Holiday Cottage Walking Holidays

The Isle of Wight is famed for having more footpaths per square mile than anywhere else in England and with a vast variety of scenery and places of interest it is well known by both strollers, serious hikers and their dogs to offer a holiday of a lifetime whatever the time of year.

With cross Solent ferries terminals and first class bus links to virtually all parts of the island less than 15 minutes walk away, West View provides an ideal hub from which to explore. There are several beautiful walks which start right from the cottage doorstep.

There are many guides published but the “Ramblers by Bus” series of ten or more walks created by the Isle of Wight Ramblers in association with Southern Vectis, the main bus operator, are particularly helpful to those without personal transport.

There are a series of walking events held throughout the year with the major two week festival held each held April/May. This is one of the largest events of its kind in the UK

There are a wide range of walks to choose from including challenging coastal walks to beautiful short strolls and special interest trails, providing something for everyone.
